William Grigahcine (Born in 1985), better known by his stage name DJ Snake, is the leader of the New Generation of French DJs and Producers mixing both genres of Hip Hop and Electronic music. He is a Grammy- nominated producer and artist who debuted into the international scene with singles “Bird Machine” and “Turn Down For What” in 2013. In February 2013, DJ Snake released his first single “Bird Machine” under an American label. The single featured a collaboration with fellow French act Alesia. It was signed by the label Mad Decent and was the most played song one month after its release at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami (A-Trak, Baauer, Bassnectar, Congorock, Dillon Francis, Diplo, Feadz, Flosstradamus, Flux Pavilion, Knife Party, etc.) Meanwhile in the UK, there was a lot of buzz around the release with many young people making choreographed videos featuring the single. BBC Radio was the first radio station to feature “Bird Machine” in their TOP 10 and top DJs like Nick Grimshaw (Morning #1 in UK) requested for the single to be #1 on the radio. In April 2013, there was a surprise meeting with Nick Grimshaw and DJ Snake. Back in June 2013, Diplo invited DJ Snake to do a live mix for his show “Diplo & Friends” on BBC Radio as well. The two are currently working on a collaboration that is due out in early 2014. In the Summer 2013, DJ Snake was asked to remix songs for AlunaGeorge, DuckSauce, Major Lazer, and Zedd. The remix for AlunaGeorge “You Know You Like It” became such a success it replaced the original song on American and British radio.
