Hailing from Memphis, Tennessee, Agori Tribe is the collective consciousness of five friends and musical collaborators: David Collins, Sean Naughton, Will Nicholls, Jeffery Naylor, and Dave Hash. Since its inception in 2008, the tribe has evolved into a distinct and cohesive unit of extremely passionate and driven young musicians, each offering diverse styles and ideas to create an undeniably original sound. With Agori Tribe, nothing is out of the realm of possibility.
They defy easy classification by fusing elements as diverse as rock, funk, and reggae with blues, jazz, and psychedelia. This unique brand of sonic experimentation comes naturally to the tribe and has helped them to emerge as one of the premier up-and-coming artists in Memphis, TN.
2011 has proven to be a very rewarding year for Agori Tribe. Most importantly, it marked the pivotal addition of key members Nathan Adams (Bass) and Dave Hash (Percussion/Keys). Other highlights include opening for Perpetual Groove, performances at the Bristerfest (TN), LUVMUD (TN), and Fall Ball (MS) music festivals, local media coverage including a Fox 13 TV spot, and numerous studio sessions in preparation for their much anticipated recording debut which is now available for free at http://agoritribe.com/music/. Agori Tribe looks ahead to the future with the intention of building upon this momentum, continuing their musical progression while developing creatively as artists. With their drive and passion, the possibilities are truly endless.
Building off of a successful 2011, the guys certainly had big things in mind for 2012. Beginning with a bang, their win on the Waka Winter Classic tour secured them a spot in the Wakarusa 2012 lineup where they played alongside legendary artists including Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead, Primus, Keller Williams & EOTO, and shared the stage with the likes of the Emmitt-Nershi Band ft. Bill Nershi of the String Cheese Incident. The first part of 2012 also included a special gig with Spankalicious, and headlining performances at both the Fools Ball 12 (MS) and Bristerfest II (TN) music festivals. Rolling right along, Summer 2012 included a show at the Fountain in Starkville, MS, and special events at the Hi-Tone Cafe and the Avenue at Carriage Crossing in Collierville, TN.
Gearing up for a busy Fall 2012, the summer also marked a new period of song writing for Agori Tribe. In the coming months you can expect to see the tribe showcasing new material at many venues across the South including Minglewood Hall in Memphis, Newby’s supporting Zoogma, Dave’s Dark Horse Tavern in Starkville, MS and once again at the Fall Ball music festival in North Mississippi. Join the tribe in spreading love and peaceful vibes all the way into 2013!
