Since forming in late November of 2009 Holding Space has evolved from playing their first show on the beach with a PVC stage with painters plastic wrapped around it and wooden pallets to play on, to being selected for the Wakarusa Music Festival in 2011. People generally have a hard time describing a Holding Space experience because the music is pushing the boundaries of new age experimental music, and their ability to create psychedelic spaces that are establishing new musical platforms. The music is influenced and has roots from artists like Pink Floyd, Grateful Dead, Phish, String Cheese Incident, Jimi Hendrix, to name a very small few. Through the use of conscious intentions, amplified by crystal grids, bowls, and didgeridoos, the music is charged with positive energy to create a healing experience. Since forming in the Winter of 2009, Holding Space has erupted in the Texas jam scene playing many festivals and a slew of shows. The band has played all over Texas from Denton, San Marcos and Austin, to Corpus Christi, and is expanding throughout the mid-west and west coast tour this upcoming summer. The Holding Space Experience is a complete sensory overload ranging from intense psychedelia energy movements to calm peaceful meditative spaces, this music is pushing the boundaries of new age experimental music and is expanding exponentially.
