So a little bit about Coleslaw… It started with a group of best friends jammin’ and recording raw tracks in Dylan’s garage. All songs on the first demo (New Year’s 2011) were written in the early stages of collaboration and taken to new levels with a full band. The four original coleslaw members include Dylan Angleton, Taylor Graham, Jared Klerekoper and Clay Wilkerson whom all sprouted from Broken Arrow, OK. The necessity for a keys player and a banjo were very apparent after a few years of writing songs together and meshing the original four’s backrounds. So, they added Jordan Holt on the keys and Cody Brewer on the banjo and percussion instruments. Dylan sings and writes folk songs both on electric and acoustic and Jared’s psychedelic lead guitar seems to compliment the emotional songwriting perfectly. Taylor brings in the funk and the sex appeal. If there is any reason why these songs are moving, it’s because of this man. Clay plays the drums and has been playing and singing with Dylan from the beginning. You will find the band playing in Tulsa with other local favorites such as The Moai Broadcast, Pilgrim, Montu and other friends. Some say that, “Coleslaw” the name, might not fit the sound, but it definitely fits the idea that several different ingredients can make something nasty.
