Wakarusa’s Music Monday – The Tarlatans

Wakarusa’s Music Monday brought to you by The Tarlatans!

Members: Taylor McCleskey, Ryan Williams, Eric Mixon, Blake Shorter

Origin: Charleston, South Carolina

Genres: Roots Rock, Pop

Albums: The Tarlatans

The Tarlatans have just finished mastering their new EP which we will have on sale at Waka but won’t be officially on-sale until August.  Our first single which we initially planned on releasing late June is a track we were lucky enough to have G. Love in studio with us to record

A tarlatan is a specialized rag used to clean off a wood print or in this case, a colorful, yet raw and dirty Americana rock act from Charleston, SC. Based on the writings of guitarists and vocalists, Taylor McCleskey and Ryan Williams. The Tarlatans are an ingenious approach to staying along the fine line of a catchy pop rock, but still leaving room for the beauty of human imperfection and celebration of life and its highs and lows. McCleskey and Williams are brilliant poets who harmonize beautifully together and are truthful with every lyric, unafraid of admitting their faults and hardships. They possess and old country feel – especially visible in their ballads, but are transformed into their own sounds adding elements of bluegrass and folk rock with the help of other band members, Eric Mixon and Blake Shorter.

Check out “Home Sounds Fine to Me” feat. G. Love from their forthcoming EP ‘Good Luck’ Here!
